Virtual ASC CrEATe Lab Summer Camp 2020
Instructor: Faith Anaya is passionate about food and teaching kids. Anaya worked in a number of gourmet food businesses which gave her an appreciation for fresh ingredients, local sources, and healthy eating. Her cooking knowledge extends to recipes from around.
In January 2004, Anaya launched Kids Cook!™. Her business provides kids the opportunity to discover the joy of creating healthy, delicious food they can make themselves. Since launching, she and her staff have worked with over 2,000 kids in after-school classes, summer camps, public and private schools, and libraries in Arkansas.
July 13-17, 11 a.m.-12 p.m., Ages 10-17
CrEATe Lab will help students turn their knowledge of dietary choices into meals that they will prepare by offering a nutrition-based, hands-on cooking camp. Students will be taught to independently prepare a nutritious dish as well as learning basic skills, such as how to properly wash, peel, chop and slice various food items and how to avoid illness from improper food preparation.
For more information, contact ASC Public Programs Coordinator Shakeelah Rahmaan at firstname.lastname@example.org or 870-536-3375. To register, visit asc701.org/summer-camps.
CrEATe Lab is made possible by the Blue & You Foundation for a Healthier Arkansas by Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield and the Pine Bluff Area Community Foundation, an affiliate of Arkansas Community Foundation.
